The Power Of Proximity: How Being Surrounded By The Right People Can Grow Your Business

June 10, 2022

If you launched your business on your own, chances are you will have a hard time letting other people take over tasks that you know you’re able to accomplish yourself. You feel a sense of responsibility and possession of your business, and it can be difficult to trust that others can do the job as well, if not better than you.

After all, they’re not you. How could they possibly operate your business from the position of knowing its every detail as you do?

But this thinking is holding you back from growing your business and seeking opportunities that could benefit your bottom line in more ways than one. Because the truth is, if you want your business to thrive, it’s important to surround yourself with the right people.

I say this all the time, but truly successful entrepreneurs are those who can recognize their strengths and weaknesses—and then hire experts in industries outside of theirs to advise them. By filling in the gaps in their expertise, these entrepreneurs are able to make better business decisions.

We all know that great ideas don’t grow in isolation. Without an outside perspective or set of fresh eyes to remind you what’s possible, it can be easy to get stuck in a rut and feel like there is no way to grow your business. You may not have the time or energy to implement new strategies, so you stick with what’s comfortable, even though it isn’t beneficial in the long run.

When you fill your team with people who are skilled in areas where you are lacking, they can help guide your business decisions and ensure that you are seeing the most potential areas for growth.

So, whether you’re looking to expand your existing client base or explore new opportunities across different industries, hiring people outside of your specialty can help grow your business more than you may realize.

If you want your business to flourish, surround yourself with the best and brightest in every area of your industry—and then let them guide your company to success.
